The name Generations is inspired by the vast culinary knowledge Lukas learned from his family and travels. It is a commitment to give back to generations to come and an inspiration to develop authentic culinary methods. Quote: "I believe in the history of food and want to share my passion with current and future generations. Sitting at the dinner table with loved ones is a foundation of connection amongst people, one to cherish, foster, and continue." He adds, "Food builds conversation, smiles, happiness, and memories. I see the love for food in my niece Louisa, who chants when she gets Uncle Lugi's meals. Food is a testament to the past and present, a memorable experience that, in memory, lasts a lifetime."
Lukas was born to Carlyn Weiler (Lipburger), who created Fit Kids with Reebok, owned her fitness centers, and got the first off-Broadway rights to host musicals in Austria. His father was Alios 'Liss' Lipburger, the deceased former head coach of the Austrian Ski Jumping Team. Lukas ventured into the art of Ski Jumping and successfully won the Austrian junior championship. His passions included golf, skiing, cooking, taekwondo, dancing, and vaulting - equestrian gymnastics.
After schooling, he came to the United States to work with Marriott (formally Starwood) to help develop managers, raise brand awareness of W Hotels, and increase hotel scores. During his time with Marriott, he lived in Arizona, California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington D.C., and Vienna & Seefeld, Austria. He worked in sales & catering, human resources, food & beverage, guest services, and housekeeping. Lukas wanted to experience working in each area to gain a diverse background and understand how to best and proactively lead every aspect of the operation. He spent five years with Starwood (now Marriott), serving W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin, and the Luxury Collection. His most recent hotel gig was serving at The Mayflower, the most prestigious hotel in Washington, D.C., and was part of hosting the official presidential inauguration in 2013. After that, he joined the renowned Kimpton Hotels and managed several hotel restaurants and bars in D.C. Under his leadership, his team won the best 'Hotel Bar' by the Washington Post.
Lukas joined Princess Cruise Lines as the Fleet Manager of Special Projects, Innovations, and Service Strategies. There he focused on increasing efficiencies and communication between shipboard and shoreside operations. He was part of the industry-changing launch of MedallionClass, an initiative of Carnival Corporation. His duties" included the teammate corporate buy-in, fleet and team development, opening of training academies around the world, executive coaching, increasing guest services' scores, and teammate cabin re-design. After seven successful years serving the Princess family, Lukas moved to Green Bay to be around family and open Generations Bistro & Marketplace. As a chef, Lukas was inspired by the fantastic food he grew up on prepared by his mother, Carlyn, Grandparents, and his family lineage of successful Chefs. He is a total foodie passionate about introducing new flavors and culinary styles to make healthy and delicious meals.
Lukas has visited 129 countries and strongly desires to dive into each culture. Every destination that Lukas visited, he would make a point to immerse himself in the local culture and attend a local cooking class, which gives his food a wide range of international flair. His goal in meal design is to eliminate preservatives by substituting healthy-organic options without sacrificing flavor.
Whether preparing food for family or guests, delivering food to your home, offering cooking tips in the market, or chatting with him while you enjoy time at Generations … Lukas cannot wait to meet you and share his passion for creating memorable moments with you!
